One of our assignments at Brunel University has recently had us designing and building MySQL databases, and setting up PHP pages to input data and retrieve information.
This is not something I particularly like or am good at, although the resulting piece of work was extremely satisfying.
We were given the original SQL for the database and had to modify it in several ways, one of the main ones being to hold a "binary large object" (or blob). We were then asked to copy a database information retrieval results page from Database Systems, and pull out the appropriate information. This may sound simple for a professional, but has for me been an extremely challenging task!
Have a look at what I have done, and I'll let you know the result when I know...
