Just to clear it up: this site has no association with the Jack Daniels distillery in Tennessee...

Now that's been said, welcome to jd-works.com, the result of "I will get round to building a site", much swearing, at times despair, and many late nights. Before I go any further I must give credit where it's due, thanks to the many people who helped me to get this to where it is now, without your time and guidance you wouldn't be reading this now.

A little about me... I'm currently living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and working for a design and usability company called Electronic Ink. The job has been the internship for my studies at Brunel University in London - I'll be graduating in June 2006 with a BSc in Multimedia Technology and Design.

In the next few weeks I'll be actually be leaving Philadelphia and traveling by car to San Francisco over a month, after which I will return to the UK. This is my holiday for the year before I get back into the really tough job of being a student! Stay tuned for updates on the journey at jd-works.com.

This site is not about one subject in particular. It is for friends, co-workers, strangers, designers, and anyone who may be interested in what's going on in my surroundings. And that's who I want to hear from now. Comments as to the shortfalls of my design, content, code writing, or why you just think this site is just plain rubbish will all be taken in the best possible way, although if you want to say how much you like everything, that will be fine as well!
